Pine Marten photographed on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in north-west Scotland. Scotland as a whole has a very healthy population of this endangered mammal with a particularly high concentration in this area. Although considered a primarily nocturnal mammal they can be quite active during the long daylight hours of summer either in the first hours of daylight or early evening.
